  Notes	Herman adopted Stanley. Note on the marraige: When I asked mommy what she thinks happened in their marriage, she responded that essentially, Alice was a religious woman, and Herman was not. They had two completely different ways of living and they just grew apart. Mommy tells a story of them having a music fight one day --- Grandma turned her music all the way up, then Herman went into another room and turned his all the way up! Mommy said Herman would go to work on Friday and come home on Tuesday like it was Friday. :-) How they met: Alice was apparently supposed to go on a date with some guy that her friend had set her up with. However, when she met this guy, Herman was with him and Grandma was more interested in him -- she asked the guy "Who's your friend there?". [10]

  Herman Robinson was born on February 5, 1926, in New York City, New York, United States to parents Lewis Robinson and Lucinda Lennon. His parents were age 39 and 38 respectively at the time of his birth. He lived his life in New York. Herman served in the US Navy from 1944-1946 where he was a cook and served in the Korean War. In the late 1940s, he participated in Golden Gloves boxing. Herman married Alice Elizabeth Robinson in September of 1950 and they would have three children together; Herman additionally raised Alice’s son Stanley Hines Robionson as his own. Herman passed away December 31, 1986, at the age of 60. He was buried January 6, 1987, at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.
