Notes |
- Herman adopted Stanley.
Note on the marraige: When I asked mommy what she thinks happened in their marriage, she responded that essentially, Alice was a religious woman, and Herman was not. They had two completely different ways of living and they just grew apart. Mommy tells a story of them having a music fight one day --- Grandma turned her music all the way up, then Herman went into another room and turned his all the way up! Mommy said Herman would go to work on Friday and come home on Tuesday like it was Friday. :-)
How they met: Alice was apparently supposed to go on a date with some guy that her friend had set her up with. However, when she met this guy, Herman was with him and Grandma was more interested in him -- she asked the guy "Who's your friend there?". [10]
